As we enjoy and celebrate the upcoming holiday season, PAWS Ohio celebrates and reflects upon the loving and compassionate life-changing and saving moments with our companion animals.
We celebrate the many adoptions into forever homes, but we also remember with sadness those we could not save. PAWS Ohio relies solely on public donations to continue a mission that began in 1976 and with your support continues today.
Donations are used for medical treatment, spay/neuter, food, litter, and transportation of rescued pets. PAWS Ohio rescues, advocates, and legislates for laws to better protect companion animals.
Spearheading Ohio House Bill 60 and Senate Bill 164, PAWS Ohio successfully made a historic change in Ohio companion animal protection laws.
No donation is too small and every donation is tax deductible.
PAWS Ohio is a non-profit in good standing with the State of Ohio. EIN 34-1189163
Happy Holidays to you and yours!

PAWS Ohio - We Need Your Help!
Most people in Cleveland know about The Public Animal Welfare Society of Ohio ( PAWS) and the work we have been doing for over 40 years to rescue, heal, and foster companion animals.
What most don't know is the costs we incur to do that. A simple hospital stay for one sick or injured animal can run thousands of dollars .
We are in dire need of support funds this year, as we have incurred a great deal of expense caring for a number of sick and injured animals that NO ONE ELSE would have cared for.
We rely entirely on donations to pay all these expenses.
PLEASE DONATE.
PLEASE HELP US HELP THEM
.
We are in need of financial support to continue saving these animals in need while acting responsibly. Every donation will help us do just that.
Please consider making a donation to PAWS Ohio to help us continue our mission in NE Ohio communities of rescuing, as the legendary Dick Goddard has said, “our 4 foots”. We will NEVER stop saving special needs animals, hospice animals, medical emergencies, and any animal we have foster space for.
Stay safe, love each other, and care for our 4 footed friends.
PAWS Ohio strongly suggests that pet owners have a plan in place in case owners test positive for the coronavirus.
Practice good hand washing and social distancing during this time as more and more cases are reported daily.
Have you heard of Goddard's Law? Ohio Legislation passed in July, 2016 to make it felony to abuse companion animals was championed by our Executive Director, Amy Beichler . The four year fight to get this law passed exemplifies the passion that Amy and the PAWS organization has to protect defenseless animals and prosecute those who abuse them.
We're not done yet. The fight for new and better laws continues. We need your support! Find out more ...
The backbone of every non profit organization is its volunteers. PAWS is a shining example of that. We have so many volunteers who selflessly give their time and efforts to help us achieve our goals and carry on our mission to foster, heal and find forever homes for our rescues.
We are always in need of more passionate, caring individuals to volunteer their time. If you would like to learn more about the opportunities that PAWS can offer you, please click below.
We don't have a shelter. We take rescues from the shelters, from the streets, and from abusive environments and place them in our Foster Homes. Our Foster Home Program provides temporary homes for these animals until a forever home can be found.

The PAWS Foster Home Program provides homeless animals with a caring, loving environment until their forever homes can be found. We take great care in choosing these foster families to make sure the animals are well cared for. We are constantly looking for more foster home volunteers to take in the rescues that we bring in.
